Hello!

Hello there! I am Manuela Salinas, and I started my adventure as a journalism student in the fall of 2021. I moved from Colombia directly here to fulfill my dream of being a journalist. Migrating from my country has taught me to be brave and to believe in myself. I am passionate about people's life stories. I am the typical person who makes conversation with a stranger in line at the supermarket. This passion was one of the things that led me to study journalism because I dream of bringing people's stories to life with my words. The journey that I have lived at UCF has led me to learn many new things and find new passions. Sports and social media are one of them. With time I will open new doors and follow the path that will lead me to be a great journalist. I am a social media intern with UCF Athletics. I'm in charge of the content for the UCF knights social media networks. Creating content is one of my most remarkable skills. I am very passionate about recording, taking photos, and editing. When I'm not doing something journalism-related, I enjoy working out with my friends, drawing and designing clothes for myself.

My love for content creation has also led me to work for my personal social media. Since moving to the United States, I have documented some of my most iconic experiences at UCF. Thanks to these types of videos, I have inspired and helped many people to go far with their dreams. I am delighted to see that my content motivates people to come to UCF or to leave their country, that although it is a difficult decision, it is possible with a lot of effort and courage.
